Aside from the content of the review, there are other ways to spot the fakes. One example is the brand new reviewer user name with no other reviews under his/her account. Another is when several 5-star reviews suddenly show up during the same week or day. Yelp has gotten good at filtering these fakes out, but I see plenty of it on Citysearch and Google Places.Rachelhttp://www.brooklynupdates.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8174135305340891126.post-89038273316753255282011-03-17T17:03:07.878-05:002011-03-17T17:03:07.878-05:00This is the best issue of The Awkward Adverb yet! ...This is the best issue of The Awkward Adverb yet! This definition also appears under "post," however, and I think you're right, that "post" would have been a better choice.

I also fixed the article error you pointed out. If you leave off the word 'blog', would you have said you happened upon a posting?

When someone updates their blog, they have created a new blog post or a new blog entry. When they are creating the entry they are posting, but when they are done they have created a post.

So I would have said 'happened upon a new blog post'. Of course this is all web speak anyway, and I don't by any means think the rules are nailed down. I'm just going by common usage in the field.

Also you left out an article in front of stand-in. :)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087241579612296857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8174135305340891126.post-85072956821751598702009-10-17T11:35:58.413-05:002009-10-17T11:35:58.413-05:00In this day of snarky fiction and non-fiction, isn...In this day of snarky fiction and non-fiction, isn't it better to be punchy than to be right?Jason Cohenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18019929086510000182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8174135305340891126.post-57691160615672618252009-07-09T07:46:39.738-05:002009-07-09T07:46:39.738-05:00Another good puzzle is to draw a tick-tack-toe gri...Another good puzzle is to draw a tick-tack-toe grid of 9 boxes and then tell someone they need to make the number 15 from every direction.
